Originally, Moscovitas were just one of the tea pastries offered by Rialto confectionery in Oviedo. Over time, they became the most sought-after.
Customers who came in for tea pastries began to demand only the ones with chocolate and almonds. That's how Moscovitas evolved from being one of several tea pastries to becoming a specialty of their own.
